International Cost of Living Ranking April 2010

The rank of the overall international cost of living indexes is reported as at April 2010 using New York as the base city. The indexes are calculated using the prices for specific quantities of the same goods and services in each location, based on expatriate spending patterns across 13 broad categories (Basket Groups).

The cost of living studied is the cost of maintaining an expatriate standard of living. When comparing the cost of living between different locations the objective is to calculate the difference in the cost of living and express this as a cost of living index by dividing the cost of living in Location A by the cost of living in Location B.

The cost of living index reports the difference in the cost of living between the 2 locations for the same items purchased. For example an index of 140 means that the Location is 40% more expensive than the comparator Location. This would mean that a person who moves

Affordable Space Travel is Within Reach

The debate as to when affordable space travel is to be within reach of the ordinary person continues, although it will not be long before you and I can take the next space hopper to the moon. The signs are there and groups of people are doing their best to help reduce the costs of space travel to us if we want it.

Since 2001 there have been five people willing to pay million to experience the thrill of space by traveling on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station. That is a lot of money for what is no more than a unique vacation, but even so the Russian space agency is booked up until 2009. How would you like to take a trip like that?

Just imagine the thrill of making your way to Houston, or even to Russia, to catch the next flight to the moon or Mars, or even just to the local space station. That may not be as far away as you think, and it is certainly more than just a comic book story. After all,

First Rock And Roll Record

Origins of Rock and Roll

Main article: Origins of rock and roll

More precisely, in musical and social terms, rock and roll was born in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s. During that time, processes of active cross-fertilisation took place between country and western music (predominantly played and heard by white people), western swing, and rhythm and blues (R&B), which itself comprised a variety of genres (including, for example, jump blues, Chicago blues, and doo-wop) and was predominantly played and heard by black people. These processes of exchange and mixing were fuelled by shared experiences in the Second World War, and by the spread of radio and records. Several records of this period have been most frequently cited by various authorities as “the first rockoll record.” These include:

Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s Strange Things Happening Everyday (1944)

“Good Rockin’ Tonight” by Roy Brown (1947),

Vince Young : 2006 Draft Day Picks

Vince Young was born on May 18, 1983 in Houston, Texas. He has always been known as a great athlete, and this stems back to his early playing career. Standing at 6 foot 5 inches and weighing nearly 230 pounds, it is easy to see why Young is one of the best quarterbacks in the world. When you combine this with a high level of athleticism and a rocket arm, Young is very hard to stop.

Young played his high school football at Madison High School in Houston for head coach Ray Seals. During his high school career Young started for three years, and during that time amassed 12,987 yards of total offense. With stats like this, it is easy to see why Young could have chosen to play at any college in the entire country. Young also competed in track and basketball while in high school.

After his senior season, Young signed with the University of Texas in 2002. He redshirted his first year which gave him the opportunity to learn the entire playbook.

Key Playoff Trends:  Rough Play, Poor Officiating

5/16/2009

Author: Brian Stankich

U. S. Sports Media, Inc

As entertaining as the playoffs have been, wins and losses have been impacted by poor officiating, rough play, and injuries to key players.

POOR OFFICIATING

As I type this, Dwight Howard was shoved by Kendrick Perkins – with no foul call.  It is characteristic of poor officiating throughout the playoffs.  In my opinion, the referees have missed 5-6 key calls in the games that I have watched.  Maybe the NBA would admit as much, as they did with the Antoine Wright buzzer no-call against Carmelo Anthony, but the league office needs to come clean that they have a serious problem on their hands.

Alert:  the officials just blew another call, allowing Paul Pierce to lean into Dwight Howard to draw a foul with no impact.  Is the NBA against the Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-NBA

Your Life Relies on Pure Political Gain of Washington

(copyrighted)
Have you noticed when the recent hurricane hit Galveston and Houston, the price of gas at the pumps ski rocketed and we had shortage (even though- the oil refineries in Houston area were not damaged). Then, it started coming down much below where it was before the hurricane.  I must have fallen sleep and missed the laws of supply and demand during my college years.

Please don’t be fooled.

Neither, is it because of the oil company did not profit enough during the past three years; therefore, they had to increase profit.  However, even thought those refineries where not damaged, they still did not start reproduction until days later.  You do not have to believe a word I say. Go back to the news.

Yet, starting a few days later (after the hurricane), the gas/oil prices starting dropping like there is no tomorrow.  Why is that?

Could it be that the oil producing countries all of the sudden decided to drop
